Lizzie Poppies

This is an original mixed media painting which is 16" x 20" x .75" on a pine wood backing. The back is cradled and ready to hang.

It's entitled "Lizzie Poppies"

The sides are painted black so framing is not necessary.

The palette is predominantly three colors. White, black and bright red.

This art piece began with a generous amount of white latex primer with dabs of an array of colors to create as much depth and interest in each layer as possible.

I've adhered paper and cardboard and used joint compound with stencils for lots of texture.

There are multiple layers of paint with plenty of drying time in between which gives a dimension to mixed media that single layers can not.
