THOUGHTS FROM 1999 - Waxing Poetic In A Time of Angst

The following poems were mostly written in 1999 through to the early part of the 21st century.

I wrote many of them when I was living in New York City, broke, making the rounds as an amateur actor, estranged from family and friends and just keeping my head above water in every way.

I felt awful most of the time. So, I wrote.

Writing has been my go-to pathway of creative expression since I began keeping a diary as a kid.

Most of my past writings have long since been destroyed. They weren't any good.

Any artist can attest to the never ending garbage that the creative process produces.

However, even though I wasn't feeling my full self, I was pushing myself to become a better writer.

And that's the point.

I've learned, that in the end, it's the striving to reach our unique creative heights that is the most important thing any human being can do.

So, in light of that, these few poems have survived for more than 25 years because I still like them.

I still get a tiny hit of inspiration and enjoyment when I read them.

They've been up on various websites for free, on and off, for years. Now, in 2024, it's time to put them in a proper place and slap a small price tag on them. They've earned it.

These poems are part of a body of work each and every dedicated artist/writer/creative person needs to have. These are part of mine. I hope you find some value on these pages.
